Vasanthi Vanniasingham is a graduate of Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine, Gainesville, FL where she earned her Masters Degree in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine. She is Nationally Board Certified by the NCCAOM in both Chinese Herbology and Acupuncture as well as being licensed in the state of Florida (#2050).

Vasanthi brings to her practice of Contemporary Oriental Medicine a multidisciplinary scientific background and a wealth of diverse experience. Originally from Malaysia, she was primarily educated in the UK and has a PhD from Cambridge University. A Microbiologist with postdoctoral research experience in Molecular Biology she has had long term involvement in the analysis and synthesis of disease dynamics. Prior to studying Acupuncture, she was a Freelance Writer/ Information Specialist for organizations such as Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the Commonwealth Scientific Organization in London, and a Locum Editor for Nature Genetics and Nature Medicine. Apart from pain management, she has a special interest in addressing the emotional roots of physical ailments and the energetic imbalances that prevent us from realizing our full potential. She maintains hands on training with Dr. Leon Hammer though his Advanced Master Pulse Diagnosis Intensives. Her leisure activities include Dance (Flamenco), Chinese Calligraphy, Travel, Photography; and also volunteering with the Arts in Medicine program at Shand’s Hospital.
